University of Beira Interior (UBI), December 14, 2018

The International Association on Public and Nonprofit Marketing (AIMPN/IAPNM), in collaboration with Department of Management and Economics of UBI, organizes the X International Congress on Teaching Cases related to Public and Nonprofit Marketing under the theme:

positive marketing

Marketing is central to understanding and advancing companies, businesses, countries, major economic areas and also much of our daily problems. It has been evolving to catch up with the changes and also embracing new scientific fields.  However, the positive effects of marketing in society have been questioned by social scientists who perceive them as a product of capitalist enterprises, made up by using marketing with excessive exploitation and as a tool for creating and maintaining their power structures. Thus, more recently there have been great debates about whether the marketing need to incorporate social dimensions, such as consumer protection, consumer satisfaction, ecological concerns and quality of life.

It is in this context that many companies, institutions and governments have been addressing these practices, emerging more and more examples of successful marketing practices with implications for consumers’ quality of life. This congress looks for a compilation of examples from all over the world discussed as case studies.

Cases to be researched will pay particular attention to the following issues:

  • Marketing and quality of life
  • Corporate Social Responsibility
  • Green marketing
  • Social marketing
  • Social entrepreneurship & social innovation
  • Public & political marketing
  • Nonprofit marketing
  • Territorial & tourism Marketing
  • Sustainability
